I was born in Pasto, in southern Colombia—a city known internationally as a cradle of applied arts and crafts, and celebrated for its Blacks & Whites Carnival, where nations and cultures come together in vibrant expression. From an early age, I was captivated by the carnival’s colorful paper figures and the sculptures I saw in church. Their volume and three-dimensional forms left a lasting impression on me.
As I grew older, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to art. I pursued that path through university, eventually earning a Master of Fine Arts with a specialization in Sculpture. Today, my sculptures and even my paintings reflect that same fascination with volume and depth—my paintings often carrying a three-dimensional feel of their own.
